Supercharged ZR2
(it should have been standard equipment)

This is my 1998 ZR2 Blazer. I traded off my 1989 Blazer for it. I always felt my Blazer was a little under powered. I believed it was strong enough to handle a lot more. So, when I bought my new Blazer which had heavier duty parts (and about 200+ lbs. heavier than my 1989) I thought I would go in search of a supercharger for it.
What follows here are some pictures of the transformation. The ZR2 experienced a 40% gain in hp and a little over 20% in torque after installing the Vortech supercharger.

This installation could not have been any tighter.

A new reusable K&N air filter is used in the kit.

Can someone say "Spark Plugs"? Well, if you are wondering 'how in the world are you going to ever change the spark plugs on this side of the motor?' the answer is the same way I had to change a few of them on my old 1989 Blazer, through the wheel well. That nice little dust flap in the wheel well gives very good access to all 3 plugs on this side of the motor. Of course you do have to take the wheel off too...

The kit comes with this 'Crane' Fireball spark boost. The instructions say to mount it in the back of the truck somewhere. Get real, keep it in the motor compartment.

The adjustment knob for the 'Crane Fireball' is mounted inside. You use it to adjust retard if detonation is occurring. (note: detonation is very bad when using a supercharger). I mounted it under my electric brakes controller.

Here is the stock stuff that had to be replaced. The most major thing is the alternator is relocated.

The official 'Before & After' rear wheel dyno test. I live at 5200 ft above sea level, so the numbers are a bit lower than most of you should experience.

Ooooo one other thing I added to handle all that extra power.... (anyway, it looks cool)
(in case you didn't know this is an aluminum differential cover with easy access drain plugs and two adjustable bearing main cap bolts.)
